Elb-Schliff

For over 60 years ELB-SCHLIFF has been producing the most modern, state-of-the-art surface and profile grinding machines, creep feed grinders and workpiece-specific custom configurations. For over 50 years, the ELB name has stood for productive and innovative grinding technology. A large number of important process variations were introduced and further developed by ELB. For that reason Elb are able to offer our customers the entire range of grinding technologies from universal standard applications up to highly productive special processes

ELB standard grinding machines can be equipped to accommodate all common grinding technologies:

Reciprocation Grinding Reciprocation Grinding

Utilizing reciprocation grinding, the work piece travels under the grinding wheel, which is fed down a few µm after each pass. This method represents the simplest form of surface grinding

  Creepfeed Grinding

Creep feed grinding is also known as full cut grinding or deep grinding. In this case the grinding wheel is fed in in one or two steps to the full grinding depth with the grinding wheel travelling at relatively slow speed through the work piece. This procedure allows a high stock removal rate
Creep Feed Grinding
Slot Grinding Slot Grinding

For slot grinding the grinding wheel is lowered to the full grinding depth. The actual infeed is done per pass in the axial direction of the grinding wheel to control the slot width

  Profile Grinding

Profile grinding comprises all those procedures in which profiles are produced instead of straight surfaces. Profiles can be generated by either reciprocation or creep feed grinding

Speed Stroke Grinding Speed Stroke Grinding

Speed stroke grinding is a variation of reciprocation grinding, using higher table speeds. Speed stroke grinding allows increased productivity as high table speed and shorter overruns reduce the time where the grinding wheel is not engaged

In addition to standard applications, ELB can also rely on a large number of proven cycles with which special grinding jobs have been solved in the past
